Tuesday – Tuesday | 8:6 Roster | Kilmore & Sunday Creek, VIC

2 Year Fixed Term Contract | Exploration Team | Start April 2026

Southern Cross Gold Consolidated (SXGC) is advancing one of Australia’s most exciting high-grade gold and antimony discoveries at Sunday Creek in Victoria.

As our drilling programs expand, we are seeking an experienced Core Shed Supervisor to lead and optimise the day-to-day operations of our core shed — the engine room of our exploration success.

This is a critical leadership role responsible for team performance, safety, operational efficiency and continuous improvement across core processing and support functions.

About the Role

Reporting to the Exploration Manager, the Core Shed Supervisor leads the daily running of the core shed, managing staff, safety, workflows and operational priorities.

You will oversee core processing activities, manage rostering and KPIs, support budgeting and logistics, and foster a high-performing, safety-focused team environment.

Clear communication, prioritisation and strong leadership capability are essential in this role, which operates in a back-to-back structure requiring consistent handover and alignment.

What You’ll Drive

🔸 Leadership, mentoring and performance management of Core Shed Assistants

🔸Safe, timely and accurate daily processing of drill core

🔸Rostering, scheduling and workflow coordination

🔸Operational audits, safety compliance and reporting

🔸Continuous improvement of workflows and administrative efficiency

🔸Budget oversight and cost-effective resource allocation

🔸Stocktakes, consumables management and exploration logistics support

🔸Development of policies, procedures and team capability

Who You Are

You’re a strong people leader who leads from the front. You bring structure, clarity and accountability to your team and take pride in maintaining high safety and performance standards.

You are organised, solutions-focused and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving exploration environment. You communicate clearly, build trust and hold yourself and others accountable.

Your Background

✔ Proven experience in a supervisory or management role

✔ Experience in mining or exploration (diamond drilling exposure highly regarded)

✔ Strong leadership and decision-making capability

✔ In-depth understanding of safety standards and industry best practice

✔ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

✔ Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office)

✔ Full driver’s license, manual required

Highly regarded:

✔ Certification or qualifications in management, OHS or training

✔ High Risk Work Licence – Forklift
