Job Description:

🌟 Environment Manager – Set the environmental foundations for SXGC’s next chapter

Monday – Friday | 5:2 Roster | Clonbinane, VIC

Permanent | Operations Team | Start February - March 2026

At SXGC, we’re entering one of the most critical phases of our journey.

As we transition from exploration into development, strong environmental leadership is essential — not just for approvals and compliance, but for building trust with regulators, communities and our stakeholders.

We’re looking for an Environment Manager to lead this next phase. This is more than an environmental role — it’s an opportunity to shape the systems, standards and culture that will underpin a responsible, modern mining operation from day one.

Why SXGC?

Because the way we operate matters.

At SXGC, environmental performance, community trust and operational discipline go hand in hand. As we move toward development, we’re building the environmental frameworks that will support long-term success — grounded in transparency, accountability and respect for place.

Joining now means you’ll play a defining role in how environmental approvals are secured, systems are embedded, and expectations are met across the business. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, influence decisions early, and help shape how SXGC operates for years to come.

If you thrive in a growing SME where ownership, integrity and high standards matter — you’ll feel right at home.

About the Role

As Environment Manager, you will lead all environmental approvals, permitting and environmental systems as SXGC transitions toward operational mining activities at the Sunday Creek project.

You’ll be responsible for establishing fit-for-purpose environmental systems, managing regulatory and stakeholder relationships, and providing practical on-site environmental leadership — ensuring compliance, credibility and continuous improvement across the business.

What You’ll Drive

🔸 End-to-end environmental approvals and permitting across projects and capital works

🔸 Regulatory engagement and management as SXGC’s primary environmental representative

🔸 Development and implementation of the Environmental Management System (EMS)

🔸 Oversight of environmental monitoring programs (air, water, noise, biodiversity, heritage and land disturbance)

🔸 Statutory reporting, audits and regulatory compliance activities

🔸 Environmental oversight during surface works, infrastructure development and rehabilitation

🔸 Transparent environmental reporting and contribution to community engagement activities

🔸 Capability building across site teams through training, coaching and clear systems

✔ Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related discipline

✔ Proven experience leading environmental approvals for mining or major projects

✔ Strong knowledge of State (ideally Victorian) and Federal environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks

✔ Experience developing and implementing Environmental Management Systems

✔ Confident communicator who can explain complex issues clearly and build trust
