Job Description:

🌟 Health & Safety Advisor – Be the Voice of Safety in a New Era of Mining

Monday – Friday | 5:2 Roster | Kilmore & Sunday Creek, VIC

Permanent | Operations Team | Start January 2026

Every great operation starts with a foundation – and at SXGC, that foundation is safety. As we move from exploration into development, we’re not just building infrastructure; we’re building a culture where safety is owned by everyone.

This is where you come in.

We’re looking for a Health & Safety Advisor who doesn’t just tick boxes but tells the story of why safety matters – someone who can turn compliance into commitment and influence into action. You’ll be the person who walks the site and sees more than hazards; you’ll see opportunities to coach, engage, and make safety part of how we work every day.

Why SXGC?

Because your work here matters.

Because this is a rare moment in time. We’re shaping a modern mining operation from the ground up, and you’ll have a front-row seat. You’ll work alongside experienced leaders, contractors, and crews, helping us prepare for the next big step: underground mining.

If you believe safety is everyone’s responsibility – and you know how to make that belief real – you’ll thrive here.

About the Role

Picture this: you arrive on site and feel the energy of a team building something extraordinary. The plans are unfolding, and every decision matters. In this environment, safety isn’t a checklist – it’s the heartbeat of progress.

As Health & Safety Advisor, you’ll be the person who turns that heartbeat into a rhythm everyone follows. You’ll take a safety management system and make it real – tailored to our operations, embedded in our culture, and understood by every person on site. You’ll prepare us for the next chapter – underground mining – where the stakes rise and the need for proactive, practical safety leadership becomes even more critical.

This role isn’t about policing; it’s about partnering. You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with operational leaders and contractors, guiding them to own safety as part of their everyday decisions. You’ll be the calm voice in a fast-moving environment, the one who sees risks before they become problems and turns lessons into lasting change.

What You’ll Drive

🔸 Bring our Safety Management System to life – not just implementing it, but making it fit for SXGC’s unique operations.

🔸Liaise with Worksafe – be our main contact who partners with Worksafe to maintain appropriate regulations onsite.

🔸 Future-proof our compliance – anticipate legislative changes and reporting requirements as we transition underground.

🔸 Keep the pulse on risk – maintain registers, incident logs, and compliance documentation that tell the real story of our safety performance.

🔸 Be present where it matters most – on-site during surface works, conducting audits, inspections, and investigations with a practical, solutions-focused approach.

🔸 Turn incidents into insights – lead investigations, close out actions quickly, and share lessons that stick.

🔸 Make inductions meaningful – ensure every person, including our contracting partners, who steps onto site understands not just the rules, but the reasons behind them. ________________________________________

Who You Are

You’re not a safety cop – you’re a coach. You know that influence beats enforcement, and you bring credibility, practicality, and a genuine belief that safety starts with people.

Your Background

✔ Certificate IV or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety

✔ 3–5 years’ experience in site-based safety, ideally mining

✔ Experience implementing safety systems

✔ Strong interpersonal skills – you can engage and influence at all levels

✔ Self-driven and proactive, comfortable working in a lean team ________________________________________
