Another successful Clean Up Australia Day done and dusted! Fifteen of our Southern Cross Gold Consolidated staff helped remove rubbish on Clonbinane Road for our annual Clean Up Australia Day team event which is becoming a highlight on our calendar. Our local staff love the environment they work in and the event is a way of ensuring we preserve the surroundings around us and give back to our local community.

The team filled two ute loads’ worth of rubbish which included an eclectic mix of beer bottles, mattresses and even a baby seat. For the second year in a row we found and wrote in a geocache, a container that’s part of a global treasure hunt that’s discovered using map coordinates and a GPS enabled device.

Clean Up Australia Day is just one way we work to improve the area around us. We invest heavily in weed management, waste reduction and recycle as much as possible to ensure our environment’s health all year round.
