We recently advised our surrounding community of our plan to apply to construct an exploration tunnel. As part of this plan, we identified social and environmental risks that need to be minimised as part of the project’s design and implementation.
Technical experts assessed the potential impacts of these risks and identified ways to reduce these impacts as much as reasonably practicable. Based on the results of the assessments, management plans that include risk mitigation and monitoring measures were created that will guide us in our exploration activities.
We have created fact sheets based on these assessments so that people can understand how the issues were assessed and how impacts will be managed and monitored. These fact sheets are now available online and can be accessed via https://www.southerncrossgoldcommunity.com.au/.../fact.... The reports that were undertaken relate to:
Noise
Air quality
Ground water
Surface water
Visual amenity
Ecology
Vibration and blasting
If you would like to discuss any detail included in these fact sheets we welcome hearing from you on 1800 717 638 or community@southerncrossgold.com.au.
