We were so pleased to recently be a part of Seymour Careers & Jobs Expo where 400 school students visited to learn about local jobs and career pathways.

Ethan, Zac and Sarah from Southern Cross Gold Consolidated joined over 40 other local businesses and spoke to students about the broad range of jobs that exist in the resources industry. The sector provides an incredible variety of roles across so many areas including field assistants, HR, environment and of course geology, just to name a few.

The students loved the gold panning exercise we featured at our stall which gave them the chance to walk away with their own gold!

It’s always so rewarding to speak to young locals about how their career interests could fit into a resource sector role. It’s also an opportunity for us to promote the vast differences between historic and modern exploration and mining practices, and we look forward to continuing these conversations with our local communities.
